Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) All negative emotions are felt through a disruption of the body’s energy. And physical pain and disease are intricately connected to negative emotions. Health problems create feedback – physical symptoms cause emotional distress, and unresolved emotional problems manifest themselves through physical symptoms. EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques (sometimes called Tapping) where we stimulate certain meridian points on the body by tapping on them with our fingertips while redirecting thoughts.

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is a mind-body technique that uses a methodology of finding and removing neurological imbalances related to the physiology of unresolved stress. NET is a tool that can help improve many behavioral and physical conditions.

GuaSha - Soft tissue pathology plays a primary role in limiting mobility. A primary type of soft tissue pathology is the fascial adhesion. These adhesions are often the result of an incomplete healing process where the full remodeling of the tissue fails to occur, and it can result in contracture of the tissue itself. This can compromise the joints and restrict movement. These adhesions can be reduced using Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation, or IASTM. IASTM is a form of GuaSha therapy, which has roots back thousands of years in China and South East Asia. In simple terms, GuaSha attempts to create a controlled inflammatory response to the adhesions within the fascial system, thereby allowing proper healing to occur.

Nutrition Advice - Proper nutrition is one aspect of health that many people understand the importance of, but something that few people actually practice in a consistent manner. Our role at Specific Chiropractic Health Center is to provide a baseline of education regarding nutrition, and then simply remind patients about the need to follow it.

Nutritional Supplementation - The convenience of commercially available food has helped alleviate many of the world's food shortage concerns (certainly within our region of the world), it has come at an expense of nutrient concentrations being less than what they were historically. While buying organic foods will help improve this, we advocate the use of specific nutritional support from Standard Process (link to standardprocess.com) By using a "Stress Symptom Survey" nutritional assessment computer program, we are able to evaluate whether there are consistent nutritional deficiencies in someone's diet that could be responsible for the symptoms that people are experiencing. Examples of this could be mild depression, fatigue, gastric reflux and other "conditions" that many people face. For complex cases, we have a team of highly regarded nutritionists that have been able to help many people with a variety of conditions.

Total Body Modification - TBM is ancillary form of bodywork that we use in our office to assess the "functional" physiology of the body. This technique uses "test points" while challenging routine muscle actions to determine whether these points are having a positive or negative effect on how that muscle is able to work. There are many similarities between how TBM works and those form of bodywork that are based on the Meridians of the body. While TBM is not for everyone, it continues to help many people in our office everyday with a variety of health concerns.
-
Deep Tissue Massage - while the idea of a therapeutic massage is something that most people can embrace, our approach to addressing the soft tissues of the body is more based on how they are affecting the joints that they are associated with. With that in mind, we tend to use a deeper level of massage that is more effective at quickly achieving a desired result - better function and less pain/discomfort.
-
Autonomic Nervous System Scans - The majority of nerves within the human body are used for something other than the transmission of pain, so we have sought out other means to assess how the body is functioning. Thermal Scans and Surface EMGs provide a better assessment of how well the body is functioning and gauge the patient's response to care.
-
Low Force Techniques - While every patient that is seen in this office is given careful and specific chiropractic adjustments, some people require a more gentle approach than other people. Our office caters to those people by providing a variety of techniques that are low- and no-force compared to traditional chiropractic.
